Breath Day – August 25, 2018

“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.”    Psalm 145:18

People have much to say today. Many opinions and suggestions that stir up dissension and create division. Words that are spoken before engaging thoughtful consideration in speaking them. Selfishness and impure motives cloaked in assurances of good intentions, leaving wounded hearts and broken relationships.

“[Jesus] prayed briefly when He was in a crowd; He prayed a little longer when He was with His disciples; and He prayed all night when He was alone. Today, many in the ministry tend to reverse that process.” ~ Billy Graham

As we believers minister to those around us, may we choose Christ-honoring, life-giving words to say to the many; encouraging, motivation-checked words to those with whom we are close; and intimate, vulnerable, authentic dialogue with the One who will grow, strengthen, and mature us.

“Draw near to the Lord, and he will draw near to you.”  James 4:8
